Job Summary: The Adult Psychosocial Specialist I assist with planning and providing psychosocial rehabilitation services. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting with group games, arts and crafts, holiday celebrations, outings and exercise for adult individuals. Reports to Division Coordinator of Psychosocial Rehabilitation Services.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience working with target population preferred. Previous experience as a clinician in a day treatment setting with adults is preferred. Must have valid Mississippi Commercial driver’s license with good driving history. Employee must demonstrate ability to recognize patients’ individual needs based on medical conditions, age (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle-aged and geriatric), limitations and planned procedures. Intensive Community Support is designed to be a key part of the continuum of mental health services and support for people (adults and children) with a serious mental illness or emotional disturbance. Intensive Community Support Services must help the child/youth function in the least restrictive, most natural community environment and improve their quality of life by helping them achieve their recovery goals.
