Job Summary: HBHS is seeking Direct Care Workers (DCW) who are available and willing to work at our 24-7 Adult Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU). The DCW functions as a Psychiatric Technician/Mental Health Worker who assist clients with physical care and daily program activities. The DCW provides flexible, supplemental Direct Care staffing and works closely with all other clinical staff (Activity therapists, Social Workers, Nurses) to conduct various processes and specialty groups within the program.
Qualifications: High school graduate and 2 years of experience in a psychiatric or inpatient, residential, group home setting, any institutional setting/facility determined to be acceptable by the agency or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college. Employee must demonstrate ability to recognize patients’ individual needs based on medical conditions, age (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle-aged and geriatric), limitations and planned procedures. Good communication skills are necessary. This position has been determined to have an occasional or very low risk of occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
