Job Summary: The Direct Care Worker (DCW) Team Lead/CSU provides direct supervision to CSU Direct Care Worker staff. The individual in this position provides training and scheduling for CSU Direct Care staff. The DCW Team Lead/CSU also functions as a Psychiatric Technician/Mental Health Worker for individuals who are experiencing a period of acute psychiatric distress and are assigned to the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU). Responsibilities include but are not limited to scheduling staff, training, serving as a DCW floater to cover shifts when the need arises, assisting the nursing staff with providing medication; and intervening in crisis situations. The DCW Team Lead will also provide support in the absence of the Support Services Clerk. Reports to the CSU Coordinator.

Qualifications:High school diploma and 2 years of experience in a psychiatric or inpatient, residential, group home setting, any institutional setting/facility determined to be acceptable by the agency or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college. Employee must demonstrate ability to recognize consumers’ individual needs based on medical conditions, age (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle-aged and geriatric), limitations and planned procedures. Good communication skills are necessary. Must have valid driver’s license in Mississippi and proof of auto insurance. This position has been determined to have an occasional or very low risk of occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
