Job Summary: Hinds Behavioral Health Services (HBHS) is seeking a Dual Certified Psychiatric/Family Nurse Practitioner to provide client services at its two (2) Crisis Stabilization Units (CSU) – Adult and Children/Youth. The Nurse Practitioner while practicing medicine under the protocols of a supervising physician, will provide medical care to all age groups with mental health disorders and/or chemical dependency disorders. The Nurse Practitioner also provides diagnostics and therapeutic psychiatric services to HBHS consumers, while making reasonable and sound Psychological/Psychiatric assessments and treatment plans. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing medical care, supporting, developing and/or applying the treatment/service plan, and facilitating compliance. Serves as a member of appropriate interdisciplinary treatment team. An individual with a dual license, PMHNP and FNP, is required.
Qualifications:Must be licensed in the State of Mississippi as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Accepted or eligible to be accepted by all major insurances. Two years’ experience in a chemical dependency treatment or mental health setting is required. Board certification is required. Employee must demonstrate ability to recognize consumers’ individual needs based on medical conditions, age (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle-aged and geriatric), limitations and planned procedures. Good communication skills are necessary. This position has been determined to have low risk of occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
