Job Summary: The Executive Director oversees the daily operations of Hinds Behavioral Health Services (HBHS) programs and services. This includes managing and utilizing financial, human, and physical resources effectively. Under the authority and supervision of the commissioners, the Executive Director is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, managing, and evaluating all HBHS programs and services. They provide leadership and strategic direction, setting performance standards for all HBHS activities. The Executive Director collaborates with advisory boards and reports directly to the Hinds County Mental Health Commission.

Qualifications:  Minimum of a Master’s Degree (Doctorate preferred) in Mental Health, Behavioral Science, or a health-related field. Minimum of five (5) years of administrative experience in Mental Health, Behavioral Science, or the health-related field. Experience in fiscal management of behavioral health, human or social services agency, governmental or nonprofit entity, including grant management, payroll, budgeting, and general accounting knowledge or skills. Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work harmoniously with staff and the Center Board, community agencies, and leaders; commitment to the community mental health center program concept; innovative and flexible approach to develop new programs; approval by the Mental Health Commission and the Mississippi Department of Mental Health.
