Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) Intake Therapist
Job Summary: The CCBHC Intake Therapist is responsible for conducting comprehensive mental health intake assessments for adults seeking services through Hinds Behavioral Health Services (HBHS). This role completes psychosocial evaluations, federally required assessments (including GPRA/NOMS, as applicable), diagnostic evaluations using the most current DSM, and facilitates timely referral to appropriate levels of care. The Intake Therapist plays a critical role in ensuring access to services, regulatory compliance, and continuity of care within the CCBHC model.
Qualifications: Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or a related field and experience as a clinician working with children and their families. Must be licensed or certified as a mental health professional. If not licensed, a Provisional Certification through the department of mental health (PCMHT) must be acquired and documentation presented to Human Resources within 90 days from hire date and (CMHT) must be obtained within to 2 years from the date of issuance. Requires flexibility regarding working conditions and assignments, good oral and written communication skills, thorough knowledge of psychiatric disorders, and corresponding treatment for children and adolescents. Employee must demonstrate ability to recognize consumers’ individual needs based on medical conditions, age (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle-aged and geriatric), limitations and planned procedures. Must have a valid Mississippi driver’s license and proof of auto insurance. This position has been determined to have an occasional or very low risk of occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
