Reduce Recidivism Program

The Hinds Behavioral Health Services’ Reduce Recidivism program is designed to assist individuals living with mental illness that have recently been released or paroled from an MS Department of Corrections facility. The Reduce Recidivism program provides the opportunity for individuals to continue to report to a parole agent and work while receiving outpatient treatment for a mental health disorder and/or substance use problem.

Eligibility

• Adults 18 years of age & older
• Individuals living with a mental health, co-occurring, or substance use disorder
• Individuals who have been released from a MS Department of Corrections facility

• Individual, Group, & Family Mental Health Therapy (6-Week Session)

Goals

• Reduce recidivism back to a Mississippi Department of Corrections facility
• Improve medication compliance, treatment engagement, coping skills, and facilitate community living
