Job Summary: Assist with the preparation, serving, and transporting of meals for patients and staff in accordance with menus, diet specifications, and sanitary practices. The Assistant Cook helps to maintain the kitchen cleanliness with washing dishes, stocking food and other kitchen supplies. The Assistant Cook will staff in accordance with established policies and procedures and perform the job in a manner that is consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Hinds Behavioral Health Services.  This position reports to the Director of Crisis Stabilization Units.

Qualifications: Employee must possess basic computational skills, organizational skills, verbal communication, kitchen equipment knowledge, and butchering. Employee must demonstrate ability to recognize consumers’ individual needs based on medical conditions, and age. Previous experience is preferred. Must have valid driver’s license in Mississippi and proof of auto insurance. This position has been determined to have an occasional or very low risk of occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
