Adult Outpatient Psychiatry & Therapeutic Services


Hinds Behavioral Health Services psychiatrists, nursing staff, therapists, case managers and support staff provide many Outpatient Mental Health services to adults and seniors.

Outpatient Mental Health Services

During your first appointment you will be asked to bring:

  • An Insurance Card
  • A Photo ID
  • Any Current Medications
  • Current Hospital Records (if needed)

*If you do not have a photo ID you will need to show proof of residence (mortgage/rent/lease agreement or a utility bill in your name), social security number, and date of birth.

Mobile Crisis Response

Mobile Crisis is available 24/7, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Outpatient Therapy

The mental health therapists at Hinds Behavioral Health Services provide outpatient therapy and counseling to adults and seniors with mental health issues including:

You do not need a diagnosis to visit with a therapist. Our treatment team will provide an intake assessment prior to your first appointment to help guide you to an appropriate therapist. We provide individual, group and family therapy at our main office Monday through Friday and by special appointment on Saturday. In an effort to offer the best service possible therapy sessions take thirty minutes to one hour.

Anger Management is a 8-week program created to help improve interpersonal skills. The group is open to clients of Hinds Behavioral Health Services who are age 18 and older.

Alcoholics Anonymous
On The Way Up
Every Tuesday
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM

On The Way Up Alcoholics Anonymous is a free support group for individuals who are seeking help for a drinking or substance use problem.

Better Me
Every Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday
9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Better Me helps individuals actively using mood altering substances reduce substance use and build coping skills. The group is open to any registered client of Hinds Behavioral Health Services.

Grief Recovery
Tuesdays (Weekly)
1:00 PM

Grief Recovery is an open group that helps individuals learn to express feelings, & cope and recover from loss in a safe and non-judgmental environment. There is no time limit on grief and there is no time limit on engaging in this group.

Parenting Skills
Every Friday
1:00 PM

Parenting Skills is a 6-week group that teaches parenting skills in the areas of communication, appropriate discipline, and child development. A certificate is received upon successful completion. This class is open to registered HBHS Alcohol & Drug Service clients.

Domestic Violence

Domestic Violence offers an 8-week group for individuals who have been court ordered for domestic violence classes as well as a separate class for survivors of domestic violence. *A certificate is received upon successful completion.

ARROWS
CONTACT FOR TIMES

Join the NAVIGATE family and caregiver support groups. Work towards achieving resiliency and recovery over the world’s mental health stigma. The group is open to registered clients of HBHS’ NAVIGATE.

A Fresh Start

The Fresh Start Support Group can help provide emotional and mental health support to individuals who are facing recovery challenges or difficulties. The group is open to any HBHS client.

Relapse Prevention is an alcohol and drug prevention support group for adults who are clients of Hinds Behavioral Health Services. We can help you find support to remain sober and learn how to live a healthy and sober life.

Tobacco Cessation is a free support group for individuals who have or want to quit smoking.

Parenting Class

Hinds Behavioral Health Services offers a 6-week Parenting Course with certification upon completion. Course topics include discipline techniques, roles in the family unit, conflict resolution, developmental stages, and healthy relationships. This group is open to the public and approved by CPS.

Trauma Support Group

Hinds Behavioral Health Services Trauma Support Group provides an opportunity for survivors to share personal experiences while building a support network, developing a better understanding of trauma, understanding common emotions that accompany trauma, examining problematic thought patterns, and learning coping strategies to incorporate into everyday life.

The Ground Zero 
Every Monday & Wednesday
5:30 PM – 7:30 PM

The Ground Zero group is a 10-week group for registered clients of Hinds Behavioral Health Services who are seeking support and recovery from opioid addiction. The group focuses on education, prevention, and recovery from opioid addiction including prescription pain relievers, heroin, and synthetic opioids such as fentanyl.

Recovery Valley IOP
Every Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday
5:30 PM – 8:30 PM

The Recovery Valley Intensive Outpatient Program is a 10 to 12-week outpatient program for substance use treatment.

Caregiver Support Group
Every Friday
12:00 PM

The Caregiver Support Group is a safe space to discuss the stressors, challenges, and rewards of caregiving. The group is open to the public and any caregiver.
