Hinds Behavioral Health Services Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) provides 24/7 short-term supervised care to adults who are experiencing acute psychiatric distress or sudden emotional pressure.
Job Summary: This individual will serve as the full-time on-site Director for the Hinds Behavioral Health Services (HBHS) Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU). Directing the daily operations of the CSU and providing direct therapeutic support to consumers as needed in a sixteen (16) bed, 24-hour crisis stabilization facility. The position is responsible for coordinating all activities of the CSU and the day-to-day supervision of all CSU staff including ensuring all health, safety and service outcomes are met. Reports to the Medical Director.
Qualifications: Minimum of a Master’s Degree (Doctorate preferred) in Mental Health, Behavioral Science or health-related field; Minimum of three (3) years of management experience in a public or private mental health organization; licensed professional in a behavioral health field or similar health-related field; or an equivalent combination. Experience in management, leadership, and supervising a large diverse team; excellent oral and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills; and the ability to work harmoniously with Center staff building and maintaining strong relationships; excellent organizational skills. Commitment to the community mental health center program concept; Ability to think creatively and work with others is required; Ability to quickly comprehend a wide range of issues at the intersection of behavioral health and society. Strong computer skills including preparation of spreadsheets, word processing and presentation software required. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instruction is needed. Candidate must have the ability to work independently. The candidate must have a valid Mississippi driver’s license and proof of current auto insurance coverage.
