Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program (AIOP) Therapist

Job Summary:
The Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program (AIOP) Therapist will conduct ongoing assessments, evaluations, and counseling for individuals facing issues related to alcohol and drug use, as well as mental health concerns. This role involves working with both the consumers and their families. Key responsibilities include crisis intervention, providing individual, group, and family therapy, coordinating referrals for consumers, and offering planned educational and growth experiences.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or a related field and experience as a clinician working with children and their families. A license is preferred. If not licensed, a Provisional Certification through the Department of Mental Health (PCMHT) must be acquired and documentation presented to Human Resources within 90 days from hire date, and (CMHT) must be obtained within 2 years from the date of hire. Requires flexibility regarding working conditions and assignments, good oral and written communication skills and thorough knowledge of psychiatric disorders and corresponding treatment for children and adolescents. Employee must demonstrate ability to recognize consumers’ individual needs based on medical conditions, age (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle-aged and geriatric), limitations and planned procedures. Must have valid driver’s license in Mississippi and proof of auto insurance. This position has been determined to have an occasional or very low risk of occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
