Job Summary: The Community Support Specialist functions as a case manager with an assigned caseload of children with emotional, behavioral, and/or conduct disorders and their families. Responsibilities include but are not limited to supporting, developing and/or applying the Recovery Support Plan and facilitating compliance. The Community Support Specialist Serves as a member of the appropriate interdisciplinary treatment team. This position reports to Community Support Services Team Lead.

Qualifications: Job Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or a related field required; previous experience in a mental health setting preferred. A Provisional Certification through the Department of Mental Health (PCCSS) must be acquired and documentation presented to Human Resources within 90 days from the hire date and (CCSS) must be obtained within two years from the date of issuance of provisional certification. Employee must demonstrate the ability to recognize consumers’ individual needs based on medical conditions, age (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle-aged and geriatric), limitations and planned procedures. Good communication skills are necessary. Must have a valid driver’s license in Mississippi and continued proof of auto insurance. This position has been determined to have an occasional or very low risk of occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
