Job Summary:

Provides ongoing IOP, provides mental health assessment, evaluation, and counseling for consumers with chemical dependency problems and families of those consumers. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, crisis intervention, acute psychiatric therapy, coordination of consumer referral, and provision of planned education/growth experiences—reports to the Coordinator of Substance Abuse Services.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Chemical Abuse Treatment, or a related field is required. Experience as a clinician in a mental health setting or opioid abuse treatment facility is preferred. Must be licensed or certified as a mental health professional. A Provisional Mental Health Certification (PCMHT) or Provisional Certification as an Addiction Therapist (PCAT) through the Department of Mental Health must be acquired and documentation presented to Human Resources within 90 days from hire date, and full certification must be obtained within two years from the date of issuance. Employee must demonstrate the ability to recognize adult consumers’ individual needs based on medical conditions, age (young adults, middle age and geriatric) limitations, and planned procedures. Must have a valid driver’s license in Mississippi and maintain proof of auto insurance. This position has been determined to have an occasional or very low risk of occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens
