Mental Health Therapist – Adult Services
Job Summary
Provides mental health assessment, evaluation, and counseling for consumers and families of consumers. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, crisis intervention, acute psychiatric therapy, coordination of our consumer referral, and provision of planned education/growth experiences. Reports to the Adult Treatment Team Lead.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or a related field and experience as a clinician. Must be licensed or certified as a mental health professional. A Provisional Certification through the Department of Mental Health (PCMHT) must be acquired and documentation presented to Human Resources within 90 days from the hire date and (CMHT) must be obtained within two years from the date of certification issuance. Requires flexibility regarding working conditions and assignments, good oral and written communication skills and thorough knowledge of psychiatric disorders and corresponding treatment. Employee must demonstrate ability to recognize consumers’ individual needs based on medical conditions, age (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle-aged and geriatric), limitations and planned procedures. Must have valid driver’s license in Mississippi and proof of auto insurance. This position has been determined to have an occasional or very low risk of occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
