CIT 40-Hour Training

Join the July 40-Hour CIT Training! CIT is conducted by specially trained law enforcement personnel, mental health professionals, mental health consumers and family advocates. The training includes identification of types of mental illness, verbal skills for de-escalation of potentially violent situations, specifics on suicide intervention, and a mental health system overview.
MS House Bill 1222: EACH MUNICIPAL AND COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY TO HAVE AT LEAST ONE CRISIS INTERVENTION TRAINED OFFICER BY A CERTAIN DATE.
Qualifications: Training will only be provided for full-time certified law enforcement officers with a minimum of one year of law enforcement experience. If you do not meet the criteria, please consider signing up for our free 8-hour Mental Health First Aid training for public safety and first responders.
