Jackson House

Jackson House is a psychosocial rehabilitation program designed to assist adults with serious mental illness live independently, promote recovery, and restore community functioning. The daily structure of the program is centered on group sessions that include four forty-five-minute sessions designed to promote the path to recovery and resiliency. Social events and recreational activities are held once a week and throughout the year.

Members can learn how to:

• Reduce relapse and distress from symptoms
• Lower hospitalizations
• Take medication responsibly
• Increase community integration
• Build social networks and self-awareness
• Enhance life-skills and achieve personal goals

Activities include:

• Shopping trips to pick up groceries, clothing, and household items
• Restaurant outings
• Social events and dancing
• BBQ and cookouts
• Movie and theater outings
• Bowling and recreational activities

Membership Requirements

• Adults ages 18 and up
• Current client of Hinds Behavioral Health Services
• Referred to the Jackson House based on program criteria by a doctor, case manager, and/or therapist

*Transportation is provided to Jackson House from the metro Jackson area.
