Hinds Behavioral Health Services’ supervised living combines affordable housing with intensive coordinated services to help individuals build self-sufficiency and maintain independent living. Supportive housing tenants learn to address physical health, mental health, and substance use conditions. Person-Centered Planning provides individuals with choices and control over all aspects of their life. Community integration services include life skills training, time management skills, adult education, community-based psychosocial rehabilitation programming, participation in therapy groups, education in self-advocacy, and using public transportation. Tenants are given opportunities to seek employment and work in a competitive integrated setting, engage in community life, and control personal resources. Community integration staff will be located onsite to offer flexible, voluntary, recovery-focused support services to help aid individuals’ self-determination efforts and provide assistance in developing more experience in making informed choices.
