Job Summary: The Mobile Crisis Community Support Specialist collaborates with licensed crisis clinicians, medical staff, hospitals, law enforcement, and community partners to respond to behavioral health crises in homes, emergency rooms, schools, and other community settings. This role provides short-term crisis stabilization, service coordination, resource linkage, and follow-up support to help individuals safely stabilize in the least restrictive environment possible. Participation in a scheduled on-call rotation is required.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or a related field required; previous experience in a mental health setting preferred. A Provisional Certification through the Department of Mental Health (PCCSS) must be acquired and documentation presented to Human Resources within 90 days from hire date and (CSSS) must be obtained within two (2) years from the date provisional certification is obtained. Employee must demonstrate ability to recognize consumers’ individual needs based on medical conditions, age (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, and young adults, middle-aged and geriatric), limitations and planned procedures. Good communication skills are necessary. Must have valid driver’s license in Mississippi and proof of auto insurance. This position has been determined to have an occasional or very low risk of occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
