Job Summary: Full time Direct Care Worker (DCW) position is available at our 24-7 Ruth Wilson Children & Youth Crisis Stabilization Unit (C&Y CSU). The Direct Care Worker assists clients at the C&Y CSU with physical care and daily program activities. The DCW works closely with all other clinical staff (Activity therapists, Social Workers, Nurses) to conduct various process and specialty groups within the program.
Qualifications:Job Qualifications: High school graduate and 2 years of experience in a psychiatric or inpatient, residential, group home setting, any institutional setting/facility determined to be acceptable by the agency or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college. Employee must demonstrate ability to recognize patients’ individual needs based on medical conditions, age (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle-aged and geriatric), limitations and planned procedures. Good communication skills are necessary. This position has been determined to have an occasional or very low risk of occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens.

Job Summary:
Perform data entry in computer database systems. Answer incoming phone calls and transfers them to appropriate extensions; act as receptionist for staff and consumers; and control traffic flow between consumers and physicians; Schedule consumer appointments and keeps daily schedules accurate. Perform cashier duties, handle accounts for all consumers, collect fee and payment information from consumers.

Job Summary: The Peer Specialist will perform a wide range of tasks to assist peers of all ages in regaining independence within the community and mastery over their own recovery process. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, serving as role models to peers, helping other consumers with skill building, goal setting, problem-solving and finding resources. Reports to Mobile Crisis Team Lead.
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Must be a current or former consumer, or first degree family member of an individual who has received treatment for and self-identifies as a consumer or former mental health consumer. Must have demonstrated a minimum of six (6) months, preferably twelve (12) months, in self-directed recovery. Must have completed at least one of the DMH recognized peer training programs such as, Family-to-Family or Family Time Out. Must successfully pass the Certified Peer Support Specialist after completion of training. Good communication skills are necessary. This position has been determined to have an occasional or very low risk of occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens.

Hinds Behavioral Health Services staff provide many Outpatient Mental Health services to adults and seniors. Our Community Support Division educates individuals about community programs to help them make informed decisions, find safe housing, provide family interventions, identify problems and resolutions, assist with mental health wellness goals, and provide referrals to other agencies.
Job Summary: The Community Support Specialist functions as a case manager for an assigned caseload of adults with serious and persistent mental disorders. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, supporting, developing and/or applying the treatment/service plan and facilitating compliance. Serves as a member of the appropriate interdisciplinary treatment team. Reports to the Coordinator of Community Support Services.
Qualifications: Job Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field required; previous experience in a mental health setting preferred. A Provisional Certification through the Department of Mental Health (PCCSS) must be acquired and documentation presented to Human Resources within 90 days from the hire date, and (CCSS) must be obtained within two (2) years from the date of issuance of provisional certification. The employee must demonstrate an ability to recognize consumers’ individual needs based on medical conditions, age (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle-aged and geriatric), limitations, and planned procedures. Good communication skills are necessary. Must have a valid driver’s license in Mississippi and proof of auto insurance. Job Summary: The custodian/housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the building both inside and out. This includes sweeping and mopping using cleaning solutions, brooms, and mops, as well as dusting offices. The custodian/housekeeper is also responsible for cleaning outside walkways and entranceways and maintaining an inventory of supplies. Any major repairs needed should be reported to the supervisor. The custodian/housekeeper is also responsible for gathering and emptying waste cans, as well as cleaning, sanitizing, and deodorizing restrooms. All tasks should be performed consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Hinds Behavioral Health Services.

Job Summary: Performs a wide variety of building maintenance and custodial duties (carpentry, plumbing, painting, general cleaning, electrical, heating, and air conditioning, etc.) in order to provide a clean, orderly and safe environment. Assists with monitoring generators and fire extinguishers to ensure compliance, as well as plumbing, painting, and carpentry, and notifies supervisor of the need for minor/major repairs. Job duties also include but are not limited to: general custodial duties such as dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping all areas of the building, including lobbies and restrooms. It may require travel to multiple locations occasionally.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience in building maintenance and basic knowledge of cleaning methods and products required. Ability to lift, bend, push, and pull up to 25 lbs. Must have a valid (or ability to obtain/maintain) Mississippi Commercial driver’s license (Class D) with good driving history and proof of auto insurance.
