Job Summary: The Peer Support Specialist will perform a wide range of tasks to assist peers of all ages in regaining independence within the community and mastery over their own recovery process. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, serving as role models to peers, helping other consumers with skill building, goal setting, problem-solving and finding resources. This position reports to the PATH Grant Team Lead. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Must be a current or former consumer; or first degree family member of an individual who has received treatment for and self-identifies as a consumer or former mental health consumer. Must have demonstrated a minimum of six (6) months, preferably twelve (12) months, in self-directed recovery. Must successfully pass the Certified Peer Support Specialist after completion of DMH Certified Peer Support Specialist training. Good communication skills are necessary. Must have valid driver’s license in Mississippi and proof of auto insurance. This position has been determined to have an occasional or very low risk of occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens.

Job Summary This position serves as an integral member of the interdisciplinary team for the Minority AIDS Initiative: Substance Use Disorder treatment for Racial/Ethnic Minority Populations at High Risk for HIV/AIDS project. The therapist’s primary responsibilities are to provide client-centered, well-coordinated effective care through accurate clinical mental health assessment, evaluation, and case-by-case conceptualization to implement individual and group psychotherapy to targeted population. Maintain caseload, and assist project treatment team in outreach/recruitment to ensure EBP practices, coordination of referrals, and navigation services. Therapist will be provided with in-house training and certification to perform antibody HCV screening, testing and pre/post-test counseling education on-site. This position will provide whole-person care coordination across medical, behavioral, and social service community systems. This position is full-time and will require travel to and from partner agencies associated with the program. The therapist reports to the project coordinator. Qualifications Master’s degree in Mental Health, Behavioral Science, Public Health or health-related field preferred. In addition, it is required for the candidate to possess a mental health license or certification such as, a Provisional Certification through the Department of Mental Health (PCMHT), Certified Mental Health Therapist (CMHT), or Licensed Clinical Mental Health Therapist (LCMHT) certification credential by MS DMH. The custodian/housekeeper is also responsible for gathering and emptying waste cans, as well as cleaning, sanitizing, and deodorizing restrooms.
